India-Pakistan clash may happen thrice in Asia Cup
India, Pakistan and a qualifier team have been placed in Group A, while Group B consists of hosts Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. All matches will begin at 6 pm local time. Dubai has hosted 10 matches of this tournament while Sharjah has hosted three matches.
All teams will play one match each in their group on a round-robin basis. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super-4 round, not the semi-finals. All the teams will again take on each other in the Super-4 and then the top two teams in the Super-4 will qualify for the final, which will be held in Dubai on 11 September.
Looking at the schedule of this event, it's clear that both India and Pakistan brigades can face each other a aggregate of three times. There's every possibility of these two arch rivals meeting in theSuper-4 after the group matches and also in the tests as well.
